Saul was handsome and tall and became Israel’s first King. At first, the people were thrilled - he was a fine physical specimen. The people soon learned, however, that Saul may have been physically strong, but he was emotionally and spiritually weak. There is much we can learn from King Saul’s really bad example when it comes to pride, arrogance, insecurity, and deceit.
